From Ptolemy, to Newton, to Einstein: analyzing the paradigm shifts in cosmology

Starting with the Ptolemaic system as the base case, the Copernican revolution was a revolution within the overall Greek paradigm. At a presuppositional level, Newtonian physics relied on Euclidean postulates; it was impossible, given these presuppositions, to progress to Einsteinian relativity. In that sense, Newton represents the perfection of the ancient Greek cosmology, and Einstein’s relativity represents the escape of physics from the earlier  Grecian paradigm.

It turns out that the exact same effect occurred in origins science. Darwinian evolution, far from being the watershed scientific development that it is made out to be, is arguably the last flutter of ancient Greek biological origins speculations.
